There is a common adage, you made your bed, now you lie on it, pretty much telling people to own up to their mistakes. Depression is like a bed. Not a bed that you made, but a bed of all the wrongs that have happened in your life, piled up and neatly folded in. You don't decide to lay on that bed, but instead, just find yourself slowly looking for it, and before you know it, you are sleeping and cannot wake up. When a teenager is going through depression, they are called many names. They are called lazy if they are always in bed and not doing anything considered valuable. If they don't interact with anyone, they are called socially awkward. But there is also another side to depression. The people who look like they are so happy on the outside, yet are so incredibly sad on the inside.
